Saarstahl Group
The core business of the Saarstahl Group includes the production and sale of wire rod, steel bars and semi-finished products in various qualities for a wide variety of technical applications. Also high-quality open-die forgings belong to the product range.
Key customers include automotive manufacturers and their suppliers, energy engineering companies, general engineering, aerospace, construction and other steel processing industries.
In addition to a LD steel plant, a rolling mill and a forge in Völklingen, a considerable part of the production of the Saarstahl Group takes place in the rolling mills Neunkirchen and Burbach. The upstream coke and pig iron production takes place with the joint stock company of Dillinger Hüttenwerke (Dillinger) through the joint subsidiaries Zentralkokerei Saar GmbH (ZKS) and ROGESA Roheisengesellschaft Saar mbH (ROGESA).
In the field of further-processing, Saarstahl's subsidiaries of retail and distribution with locations in Germany and abroad offer further services and customized solutions.
Legal framework
Between Saarstahl AG as the parent company of the Saarstahl Group and its majority shareholder, SHS - Stahl-Holding-Saar GmbH & Co. KGaA, a domination agreement acc. to section 291 AktG was concluded.
SHS-Stahl-Holding-Saar GmbH & Co. KGaA (SHS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Montan-Foundation-Saar, is the majority shareholder of Saarstahl-AG as well as of Saarstahl-AG`s sister company, DHS-Dillinger Hütte Saarstahl AG, with its most significant subsidiary, the AG der Dillinger Hüttenwerke. Under the umbrella of the Montan-Foundation-Saar, both companies are working closely together.
